About

Moving diagnostics closer to the patient.

BioMEMS Diagnostics was founded in 2022 to make laboratory-type testing portable: a single-use cartridge, a handheld analyzer and an app, designed to work wherever an answer is needed.

The closer to the patient, the better the outcome.

Complex tests still mean waiting for a laboratory. BioMEMS is building a platform that moves those tests to the patient, at home, in the clinic and in the field.

Today's options outside the lab fall short.

  1. Big and expensive

Analyzers that started life as laboratory equipment: costly, bulky and limited in the tests they run.

  2. Simple yes or no

Dipsticks and rapid strips are inexpensive, but they give only basic answers.

  3. Chips that never scaled

Earlier lab-on-a-chip approaches needed a new chip for every new test. Costs rose and yields fell.

A platform, not a single test.

  1. One standard chip

The biosensor chip is the same for every test, so it can be mass-produced. The test chemistry is added afterwards.

  2. Proven tests, converted

Where possible, BioMEMS converts established laboratory tests to the platform instead of starting from scratch.

  3. Built with partners

A partner chooses the test its market needs; BioMEMS develops and manufactures it; the partner brings it to market.

Human and animal testing, at home, in the clinic and in the field, on one platform.

The cartridge, the analyzer and the app stay the same from one application to the next. What changes is the chemistry on the sensor inside.

The single BioMEMS cartridge used across every application.
